A victims mindset: 21/11/2024

I no longer feel anger at my past. I feel changed and free, I can do whatever I want.
I have the desire for achievement and greatness as my replacement for anger. This is my current state.

Having a ‘victims mindset’ (external locus of control), is not constructive. This view point creates a constantly reproducing, self-perpetuating cycle of self-pity. Dwelling on how bad things were or are does nothing to shape the future.

Of course, you need to understand your issues but don’t keep yourself in them. Identify what needs changing and change it.

Thoughts shape belief, belief shapes action, and action creates outcome.
What is a victims mindset?

The belief a force is or will act negatively on you. This could prevent you from doing something e.g.,…

‘I can’t go for a run today because its raining’. You can still run; it is your belief the rain is stopping you. Its not.

Don’t immediately blame something something/someone else if there was more you could have done.

This external need for something to determine your future positively or negatively means you are not in charge of your own life. Do everything you can regardless of circumstances and the outcome may be different to expected.

Do not think you are the victim in your own life, you are not.
